Who We Are

  Erin Richard, LCSW

Founder and Owner

As a licensed clinician, I focus on meeting with clients who suffer from trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and mood disorders. I also help those who just need someone to talk too about life stressors and life decisions. I utilize a multitude of therapeutic techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Together we will reframe negative thoughts into positive ones, learn skills to overcome intrusive thoughts, and learn how to focus on your strengths.

As a mental health counselor, I help clients process stressors, trauma, grief, and handle various mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I am experienced in addressing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma. I have assisted those with substance use challenges, and people simply ready to make some changes. I assist clients with addressing a lack of motivation, low self-esteem, and building confidence. I ensure that clients feel comfortable sharing their personal thoughts and feelings in session, in a safe environment that is judgment-free and supportive. I work with my clients to focus on their needs, values, and goals. It can be challenging to take the next step in building a more fulfilling and happier life, and I am here to support my clients through each step of the journey.

Life can be very difficult at times, and people often need more support. Professional support and insight can be particularly helpful for those that are challenged with making effective changes. I would love to be the person that you trust to turn to in your time of need. Please reach out and see if we can be a good fit to work together!

When you were a kid, were things simple for you? Were there times that you felt alone, different, or unable to do anything right? Children have big emotions that they are learning to navigate. As an adult, we are learning to meet our own needs, our family's needs, and external needs. When traumatic or stressful events occur, the impacts on both adults and children can become overwhelming. My goal is to meet you where you are in life; strengthen your skills to reduce impact from stressful events; empower you to overcome barriers that are present in our lives.

My approach starts with creating client-identified goals, utilizing evidence-based treatments, and acknowledging the importance of self-healing. Working as a team, we will gain insight into the root causes of emotions and behaviors, develop healthy skills to manage symptoms, and recognize the need for self-acceptance.

My career has consisted of working with at-risk populations, families involved with foster and kinship care, those exposed to abuse and/or neglect, youth expressing behaviors that impact home/school functioning, advanced/gifted youth, individuals with learning disabilities, and more.
